Death And Resurrection

Romans 6:23. Why must we die?

1 Timothy 6:13-16. What does verse 16 say about immortality?

Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6. What does this tell us about death?

John 11:11-14. How did Jesus describe death?

1 Corinthians 15:51-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17. When will the dead be raised?

John 5:28, 29. What does this say about the resurrection?

When the serpent tempted Eve, his first lie was, “you will not surely die” (Genesis 3:4). Satan has been using that same lie ever since. Ancient Greeks first believed that the soul and body were separate, Hindu’s and Buddhist believe in reincarnation, where the soul never dies. Many Christians have adopted this pagan belief. This lie has been told over and over and over.

The Bible clearly teaches that death is a peaceful sleep. There are no ghosts to haunt the living. There is no need to watch from heaven as our loved ones suffer and die. We are no longer forced to witness the pain and conflict of this world spiraling to its end; we simply rest until Jesus calls us home. To us it will be like falling asleep at night and in the next moment waking up to a new and perfect day.
