Baptism

Romans 6:1-6. What does baptism a symbolize?

Colossians 2:12, 13. What does it mean that God has made us alive with Him?

Acts 16:30-33. What must we do to be saved? What comes next?

Acts 22:16. If a person loves and believes in Jesus what would keep them from being baptized?

Acts 2:38. How does repentance and baptism go together?

Matthew 28:19, 20. What is the significance of being baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit?

Baptism is a symbol of the death and burial of the old self. As you go under the water and for a moment hold your breath, you put to death pride and selfishness, you burn the bridges that lead back to your guilt and shame, you are raised to a new life with a new purpose and a new understanding of what is real and what is not.

There are several types of baptism but as you can see only the Biblical version of baptism by immersion can truly represent Christ death, burial and resurrection. (Matthew 3:16; Mark 1:10; Acts 8:38)
